You'll arrive in Nice and head to your accommodation to settle in. The rest of the day is yours to wander around at your own pace. The Promenade des Anglais runs right along the waterfront and makes for a pleasant walk, or you can check out the Matisse Museum if art's your thing. MAMAC is there too if you want contemporary work, and the old town has those narrow streets and local character that make for good exploring.

Starting with breakfast, you're heading into Provence to visit Arles, a World Heritage site with Roman and medieval history plus connections to Van Gogh. After that, you'll explore Les Beaux at your own pace and see the entrance to Carrieres de Lumiere, an underground art and light show set in ancient quarries. In the afternoon, you'll stop in Avignon for lunch and a walk where you can see the Palais des Papes, the palace from when the city was the papal capital. By evening you'll reach Lyon to walk through the UNESCO historic district and take the funicular up to Notre Dame de Fourviere basilica for the views over the city.

Next you'll visit Savigny Castle, a 15th-century fortress with museums covering motorbikes, racing vehicles, airplanes, and helicopters. You'll finish the day in Dijon, Burgundy's main city, where the vibrant streets and medieval and Renaissance buildings are throughout the center.

After breakfast, you'll visit Fontenay Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage Cistercian site with admission included. From there it's on to Semur en Auxois, a medieval walled city worth walking through. Then you'll stop in Vezelay, one of France's most picturesque towns, famous as a starting point for the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage and home to an impressive basilica. In the afternoon you'll head toward Paris, arriving around midday.

After lunch, you'll take a panoramic city tour of Paris led by a native Parisian guide who can point out the main sights and neighborhoods.

Some of them also offer a mini-bar, safe box, and hair dryer. Many hotels, mainly in North Europe, do not have air conditioning or local legislation establishes limited dates of use.
